The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Corporate Counsel to support the legal practice on a variety of matters at Akoya. The role will report to the General Counsel.
Our ideal candidate has strong practical experience in drafting contracts and general corporate practice, with experience in fintech/technology matters and a solid understanding of the banking regulatory environment. In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage in many areas, including contract negotiations, drafting company policies, regulatory/compliance matters, legal research, marketing, intellectual property, among other things.
Required Experience/skills
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to all key internal stakeholders.
- Experience with privacy/data security issues
- Proven ability to exercise good judgment evidenced by anticipating legal risks, effective communication, and a high degree of ethics and integrity
- Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems in a manner consistent with our culture and ethics
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission to the bar of one or more states
- 3-5 years of experience in a major United States law firm, fintech, banking regulatory agency, bank or corporate in-house legal department
Preferred Experience/skills
- Contract drafting and negotiation experience in the technology space
- Work with contract management systems
- Detail-oriented with ability to prioritize
- Accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment
