A. Arthur Davis (1928-1997), a named partner of the firm, was mayor of Des Moines, President of the Des Moines School Board, President of what is now the Greater Des Moines Partnership, and helped establish the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute. Our attorneys and staff continue this commitment and are active in numerous organizations, programs and charitable causes with the goal of giving back to the community and making Iowa a better place to live.
Whether participating in United Way's Day of Action, volunteering at a local food bank, or organizing a food drive, the Dentons Davis Brown family pulls together in support of the local community. Our volunteer time off policy offers each employee paid time to volunteer with a non-profit organization of their choosing. In addition to donating time through firm and personal volunteering, each month Dentons Davis Brown spotlights an employee-nominated charity to fundraise for.
Since the program began, Dentons Davis Brown has donated tens of thousands of dollars to organizations including the Ashley Oakland Foundation Star Playground, Best Buddies, Tytoo Gardens Orphanage of Haiti, Beacon of Life, Prevent Child Abuse Iowa, Care for Children Foundation, Youth Emergency Services & Shelter of Iowa, University of Iowa Dance Marathon, Hospice of Central Iowa, and Iowa Coalition against Domestic Violence, among others. All employees are invited to nominate a charity they care about to be the recipient of donations.
