Iowa Attorney General seeks attorney to represent the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) in district court and appellate proceedings related to matters including civil commitments and restoration of firearms rights. The attorney will also be tasked with providing daily guidance to the agency regarding policy changes related to the state facilities and community based services. The successful applicant will be passionate about the DHHS mission, and the individuals served in these capacities. An ideal candidate will have to be self-directed and a problem solver, open to finding the best outcome for the Department. This position will require courtroom and appellate work. There may be some travel, but over-night travel should be rare.
