As the Business Development Director at McKee, Voorhees & Sease you will play the lead role in a wide variety of initiatives, including the execution of research, pitch materials, presentations, responses to requests for proposal, marketing content management, marketing communications, events, sponsorships and other general business development activities promoting the Firm’s culture and vision.
While supporting activities across practice groups, you are responsible for understanding practice group and firmwide priorities in order to properly assist with client development projects and initiatives that support those interests.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide insightful intelligence on potential clients and routes to engagement, using database queries and collating information into summary reports.
Prepare sophisticated, thoughtful and persuasive pitches and RFP responses. Responsible for the development of and adherence to timelines, organizes administrative elements of the response process, and reviews substantive content for quality and consistency.
Work closely with attorneys and staff to develop tools and processes for attorneys that promote follow through with new contacts made at events, client meetings and or industry conferences to achieve positive outcomes.
Work with colleagues to support contact management efforts (including firm contact updates, development of targeted marketing mailing lists, and client/lawyer activities).
Develop agenda for Marketing Committee meetings and lead discussions.
Responsible for digital brand management including website, logo, and social media presence on LinkedIn and Twitter.
Prepare attorney marketing budget templates, collates, and manages marketing budget.
Independently coordinate the planning and implementation of firm events, sponsorships, conferences, webinars, client entertainment and receptions. Play a key role in providing events/conference sponsorship related training sessions to the broader client development team.
Lead website communications-related activities, such as content creation, website updates and drafting of attorney biographies.
Develop tailored responses to various legal directory submissions including, but not limited to, Chambers USA, Legal 500, and Best Lawyers.
Excellent written, presentation and oral communication skills
Strong attention to detail and quality
Ability to work in a dynamic environment, prioritize multiple action steps simultaneously and meet strict and quickly evolving deadlines
Research skills and ability to turn data into succinct and useful deliverable for lawyers
3-5 years experience in a client service business development environment, preferably with a law firm, is required.
