The ISU Research Foundation (ISURF) is seeking applications for a Patent Prosecution Coordinator who will be responsible for assisting ISURF’s In-house Counsel in the process of patenting Iowa State University inventions. The Patent Prosecution Coordinator will communicate with and gather information from and for inventors, attorneys, licensees and the U.S. Patent Office to ensure accuracy, review communications, be responsible for meeting deadlines, prepare reports relating to patent and/or disclosure activity, and review and verify attorney bills for accuracy of activity and assessment fees. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and have experience using database, word processing and spreadsheet applications. The responsibilities of this position require interpersonal, communication, organization and problem-solving skills

Required Minimum Quals:
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience; OR a Master's degree; OR a combination of education and/or related experience totaling 6 years unless otherwise specified under supplemental required education and experience. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.
Experience creating reports. Experience with docketing systems. Experience working with word processing, spreadsheets, internet searches, databases and electronic mail. Paralegal experience and/or training.
