Oblon, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt LLP is seeking a Chief Operating Officer ("COO") to provide strategic management and oversight for the overall operations of the firm's business functions, including finance, information technology, practice support, human resources, legal recruiting and professional development, marketing, and facilities/real estate.
The COO will work with the Management Committee ("MC") to set and drive the Firm's strategic objectives and serve as the go-to-resource and thought partner for the MC in implementing strategic plans and making tactical decisions in running the Firm.
We are seeking a high performing individual with strong leadership skills and a solid knowledge and expertise in law firm economics. A finance background is a plus. This position requires law firm management experience and/or other professional services firm experience in a similar capacity as well as a working knowledge of law firm operations.
The COO reports to the Firm Managing Partner and works in concert with the members of the Management Committee.

Demonstrated ability to introduce and drive growth-focused initiatives.
Must possess a deep understanding of the changing legal industry and of business management in professional services firms so as to develop, refine and execute the Firm's goals including those related to growth, innovation and profitability.
Demonstrated organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage and complete multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driving, shifting-priority and client-focused environment.
5-10 years of leadership and management experience, with a demonstrated record of expanded responsibilities and purview during those years, preferably in professional services firms.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
An advanced degree (JD or MBA) is strongly preferred.
