Provide liaison services to faculty members by assisting with reference and research needs including developing online support and working with research assistants. Provide reference services to other library user groups: law students, University community, legal community and general public. Participates in collection development and assists with formal and informal instruction of legal bibliography and research programs implemented by the Law Library in coordination with the Legal Writing Program. Prepares or contributes to bibliographies, research guides and the design of web pages. Assists and coordinates with Interlibrary Loan Services. Applicants should demonstrated knowledge of traditional legal research methods and legal reference work, including knowledge of all forms of information technology used in legal research and law school instruction. Strong leadership and communication skills. Must be service oriented and have ability to work independently as well as with others in a team environment.
One or more years of professional law library experience. JD from an accredited ABA-approved law school and ALA-accredited MLS required.
Candidates with a near completion MLS degree will be considered. Students with knowledge of legal research are encouraged to apply. The MLS degree must be completed by the time of appointment (no later than August of 2018).
